Pilgrimage for Deaf 2016

Knanaya Chaplaincy Pilgrimage 2016

The United Kingdom Knanaya Chaplaincy came on their first pilgrimage last year and there were increased numbers this year. The Pilgrims’ Way was very colourful as pilgrims processed with their wonderfully decorated umbrellas to the Shrine. Mass was then celebrated in the Syro Malabar Rite in Malayalam.

Archdiocese of Birmingham Pilgrimage 2016

The Archdiocese had a new programme this year starting in the gardens of the Anglican Shrine. Pilgrims were welcomed by Fr Philip Barnes, the administrator and then they processed through the village and down the Holy Mile to the Shrine. Bishop Robert Byrne Cong. The Feast of the Ascension of the Lord & Dominican Pilgrimage 2016

The Dominican Order celebrated the eight hundredth anniversary of the founding of their order on the Feast of the Ascension at Walsingham led by the Archbishop of Liverpool, the Most Revd Malcolm McMahon OP. Diocese of Salford Pilgrimage 2016

Bishop John Arnold led his diocese’s pilgrimage to Walsingham. The pilgrimage started outside the Church of the Annunciation in the village as the bishop crowned the beautifully decorated statue and then led the procession along the Pilgrims’ Way to the Shrine. Hard on the heels of the Tamil pilgrimage the Shrine welcomed the priests and parishes of its own diocese of East Anglia. The 2016 Pilgrimage Season started on the 1st of May with the first of the two pilgrimages of the Tamil community in England. Spend a great weekend, with other Catholic families, in Walsingham at the Basilica of Our Lady - come for the Marriage and Family Life Pilgrimage. Pilgrimage will take place between Friday 12th and Sunday 14th August 2016.
