EWTN Celtic Connections - Walsingham Special

Listen to the show on Walsingham Catholic TV

Kathy Sinnott w Michelle Moran, Msgr John Armitage, Joanna Bogle and Myles Dempsey: --- Celtic Connections visits Walsingham, England's National Shrine of Our Lady. The new rector Mgr. John Armitage talks about his vision for the shrine. We talk to pilgrims who have made their way to Walsingham on foot, offering their efforts for the New Evangelisation. Visiting pilgrims include EWTN's Joanna Bogle. Myles Dempsey, founder of New Dawn, England's largest Catholic conference, tells the inside story of how New Dawn began at Walsingham - and how it very nearly didn't get started. Catholic lay evangelist Michelle Moran, member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, talks about how the gifts of the Spirit, coupled with faith, are indispensable when it comes to the New Evangelisation. Joanna Bogle recounts how England lost the faith as a consequence of England's King Henry VIII's divorce from Catherine of Aragon because she didn't give him a male heir. One man's divorce changed the history of England and ended one thousand years of Catholicism in that country. Britain today is one of the most secularised countries in the world, with all the detrimental consequences for life, family and religious freedom. But there is great hope for England. Pope Leo XIII said: "When England returns to Walsingham, Our Lady will return to England". In 2015 Our Lady has definitely returned to Walsingham.
